Dallas SchoolsDallas Independent School DistrictThe Dallas Independent School District has achieved record-breaking success in terms of student and school accomplishments. These achievements stem from the dedication of many people – the students themselves, their teachers and other school staff, principals, administrators, and the more than 19,000 community volunteers and school partners who support the students with time, talent, and funds. Richardson Independent School DistrictRISD is located in northern Dallas County and covers 38.5 square miles. Plano Independent School DistrictPlano ISD serves the residents of approximately 100 square miles in southwest Collin County. This area includes the City of Plano, northern portions of cities of Dallas and Richardson, the city of Parker and parts of Allen and Murphy. Middle SchoolsHigh SchoolsCarrollton-Farmers Branch ISDThe C-FBISD encompasses 53.42 square miles and is located primarily in northwest Dallas County with a smaller portion in southeast Denton County. The school district's boundaries are not the same as municipal boundaries. The Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District provides instructional services to children who live in portions of Carrollton, Farmers Branch, Addison, Coppell, Dallas, and Irving. Garland Independent School DistrictWith an enrollment of over 57,000 students, the Garland Independent School District is the second largest district in Dallas County and one of the largest districts in the state of Texas. The community maintains a “small town” feeling, yet our teachers have access to the increased resources that large districts offer. Frisco Independent School DistrictBecause many are choosing to plant roots in the Frisco area, Frisco ISD is at the top of the fastest growing school districts growing by 20-30 percent annually in the past 9 years. Student enrollment in May of 2007 is 24,243. More than 27,500 students are expected in the fall of the 2007-2008 school year. There were 27,207 students enrolled on the second day of school, representing 16 percent growth compared to the same time last year. McKinney Independent School DistrictThe McKinney Independent School District rates as one of the fastest growing school districts in North Texas and continues to receive academic commendations for the performance of its students. Mesquite Independent School DistrictMISD encompasses an area of approximately 60 square miles along either side of I-635 in east Dallas County. It draws from the communities of Mesquite, Garland and Balch Springs, but also includes parts of Dallas and serves Sunnyvale high school students. Mesquite ISD has a record of steady, marked improvement and a continual quest for excellence. MISD is home to two nationally recognized Blue Ribbon Schools selected and honored by the U.S. Department of Education. Wylie Independent School DistrictWylie ISD is a fast growing school system in southern Collin County, 24 miles northeast of metropolitan Dallas and its cultural, educational and recreational amenities. Covering 41 square miles, the UIL Class 5A district of more than 10,000 students serves the City of Wylie as well as families in the surrounding communities of Sachse, Murphy, Lucas, Lavon and St. Paul. Wylie ISD offers an outstanding academic program with a focus on character education beginning in elementary school. The curriculum includes a wide range of programs from culinary arts to television production. The district emphasizes technology in the classroom and as a communications tool for parents.
